At the end of her design weeks season, Simple Flair co-founder Simona Flacco took some notes:
The shows are running in Europe, Milano and Copenhagen. The modalities are totally different, but they are the most powerful moments to enjoy. Nyc is, overseas, a place to investigate; the number of new places I discovered and connections I made are something to keep in mind. There is room for brands who understand that the focus is not only on products.
A good collection is necessary but not enough to develop a brand. Please stop saying that, during design weeks, other industries are not allowed. We need to be open, we need to find a way to connect our brands to people, narrating our values. If we need to collaborate with someone from the food scenario, fashion industry and many more areas please let’s do it.Take a risk, find time and space to explore new ways to communicate brands, work with up-and-coming designers; get off your desk and computers, explore what’s up on the street, observe people in a restaurant, what they are buying or wearing.
Design doesn’t grow in a remote land; it lives int he squares thanks to the people who inhabit them.
